Mrs. Violet “Bunny” Carter Taylor of 330 E. Fudge Street, died Thursday, November 17, 2016. She was 97 years old.
Bunny was born October 25, 1919 in Covington, the daughter of the late Earl Edward and Nannie Rankin Carter. She was a retired switchboard operator with 25 years of service with C and P Telephone. Bunny enjoyed working with the flowers in her yard and loved her many dogs and cats over the years. She was a member of Granbery Memorial United Methodist Church
She is survived by a niece, Erlene C. Fleshman and husband, Ronnie, of Stuarts Draft; a ‘niece-in-law’, Eleanor Carter of Charlottesville; and great nieces and nephews, Wendy Carter, Jennifer Bulthis, Brian Fleshman, Heather Fleshman, Christy Kiser, Jessica Swartz, Katie Swartz, Wes Fleshman, Leaunna Fleshman, Sienna Swartz..
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Carter; a nephew Jerry Carter and his son, Ricky Carter.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, November 19, 2016, from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Pastor Russell Urban officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
A remembrance meal will be held at Granbery Memorial United Methodist Church on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at noon.
In accordance with Bunny’s wishes, there will be no public viewing.
Pallbearers will be Richard Tyree, Tommy Alfred and Gene Young.
The family suggests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Mountain Regional Hospice, 537 Main Street, Clifton Forge, VA 24422.
