Obituary for Nonie Entsminger
Nonie Entsminger
Mrs. Elnora Shiflett “Nonie” Entsminger, age 80, of 1103 Cherokee Trail, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at Alleghany Regional Hospital, Low Moor. She was the wife of the late Lewis Cleveland “Kebby” Entsminger.
Mrs. Entsminger was born October 23, 1929 in Covington, the daughter of the late Albert William Shiflett and Sadie Graybill Shiflett. A lifetime resident of this community, she was a graduate of Covington High School, Class of 1948 and was employed as a supervisor by CFW Telephone Company before her retirement. Mrs. Entsminger was a member of Edgemont Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church. She loved to take pictures and share those memories with others and enjoyed sewing, gardening and flowers.
Mrs. Entsminger is survived by two sons, Gregory Lewis Entsminger, Sr. of Covington, Gerald Wayne Entsminger of Fayetteville, NC; two daughters, Teresa E. Witt, Lisa E. Fox & husband, Gregory, all of Covington; seven grandchildren, Gregory Lewis Entsminger, Jr., Charity Entsminger Simmons, Kari Denise Brown, Lincoln Cole Entsminger, Kelsie Bleu Entsminger, Jessica Hope Bowles, Dakota Kolton Fox; two great granddaughters, Sierra Brown and Kaleigh Entsminger; four great grandsons, Ian Entsminger, Eli Entsminger, Andrew Brown, and Casey Simmons; two sisters, Shirley Childress and husband, Earl; Patsy Alfred, all of Roanoke; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 13, 2010, from the Chapel of with the Rev. Donnie Bowker officiating. Interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Greg Entsminger, Jr., Lincoln Cole Entsminger, Clarence Catron, Ralph Alfred, Buzzy Eggleston, Bert Seay, Berkley Mays, Jimmy Crawford, and Gary Watts.
The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 7:00 P.M. until 8:30 P.M. at and at other times at the residence, 1103 Cherokee Trail, Covington.
The family suggests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Edgemont Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, 2306 S. Church Avenue, Covington, VA 24426.
