Obituary for David Wayne Rothwell
Mr. David Wayne Rothwell, age 69,of Covington, died Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at his son's residence.
Mr. Rothwell was born April 22, 1954 in Virginia, the son of the late Benjamin Ballard Rothwell and Shirley Dame Rothwell. He was employed as a member of the crew working on Salvage Winder by Mead Westvaco for a number of years before his retirement. In his spare time, David was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Mr. Rothwell is survived by a son, Matthew Scott Rothwell and wife, Christine of Covington; a daughter, Emily Dimon; grandchildren, Chandler Rothwell, Dylan Maurer, Camden Rothwell and Payton Jarrett; an aunt, Nancy Dame; two brothers, Stephen B. Rothwell and Bryan K. Rothwell and wife, Sandy; a sister, Linda R. Arritt and husband, Chipper; his beloved dog, Abby; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Rothwell was preceded in death by a daughter, Shae Jarrett; his uncle, Milan S. Dame; and his brother, Samuel Neil Rothwell.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, May 18, 2023 from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Hartsfield officiating.
The family invite those attending the service to honor David by wearing casual clothing.
