Obituary for Virginia Ruth Angell (Richmond)
Mrs. Virginia Ruth Richmond Angell, age 79, of Covington, died Friday, April 28, 2023, at her residence. She was the wife of Bobby Cecil Angell who preceded her in death on September 14, 2020.
Mrs. Angell was born May 5, 1943 in Hinton, WV, the daughter of the late John Harvey Richmond and Martha Ellen Fox Richmond. She was a resident of this community since 1962. A homemaker, Mrs. Angell enjoyed taking care of her family. Virginia truly loved and treasured the time she spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and the memories that they made together. In her spare time, she loved watching birds, taking care of her plants and was an avid University of Alabama fan - Roll Tide.
Mrs. Angell is survived by a son, Brandon Curt Angell of Covington; two daughters, Sarah A. Leitch and husband, Preston of Covington and Sherry A. Cale and husband, Bruce of Clifton Forge; three grandsons, Stephen Christopher Cale of Covington, Jonathan Brent Cale and wife, Miranda of Covington and Joshua Hunter Cale of Clifton Forge; two granddaughters, Elaina Grace Leitch of Covington and Emily Payton Cale of Clifton Forge; two great grandchildren, Aria Lynn Cale and Killian Allen Cale; a niece, Lisa Huffman and husband, Dennis; and a number of other nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Angell was preceded in death by her sister and her husband, Rachel and Gary Gilpin and their daughter, Angela Gilpin.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Monday, May 1, 2023, at Alleghany Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends attending the service.
The family will receive friends on Monday morning at Loving Funeral Home from 11:00 A.M. until time to leave for the cemetery.
