Obituary for Melvin Franklin Sellers Sr.

Mr. Melvin Franklin Sellers, Sr., age 92, of Covington, died Monday, April 24, 2023, at the Brian Center Nursing Care, Low Moor. He was the husband of the late Patricia Ann Benson Sellers.
Mr. Sellers was born September 23, 1930 in Alleghany County, the son of the late Everett Sellers and Mary Plott Sellers. He was a lifetime resident of this community. Mr. Sellers served his country as a member of the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. During his working career, he was employed as a maintenance supervisor for the former Hercules for sixteen years, was a local remodeling contractor for years and was later employed as part of the maintenance crew by the Pinehurst Motel. Melvin was a member of Millboro Christian Church.
Mr. Sellers is survived by two sons, Melvin Franklin Sellers, Jr. of Staunton and Charles Mitchell Sellers and wife, Marva of Covington; four grandchildren, Brandon Sellers and wife, Ruby, Kristin Lee, Ethan Sellers and wife, Erin, and Haden Sellers; four great grandchildren, Morgan Sellers, Sandy Lee, Madison Lee and Warren Franklin Sellers; two sisters, Ruth S. Bledsoe of Clarksville, TN and Janice Pence of Covington; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Sellers was preceded in death by three grandchildren, Wyatt James Lee, Alexander Mitchell Sellers and Ethan Clifford Sellers.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, April 29, 2023 from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Rev. Lynn Wright officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Sellers, Ethan Sellers, Haden Sellers, Dennis Vess, Tyron Lewis, Alan Livesay, Rick Jessee, Mike Pullin and Greg Bartley.
The family will receive friends on Saturday afternoon from 12:30 P.M. until time of service at Loving Funeral Home.
The family suggests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Millboro Christian Church, 82 T C Walker Rd, Millboro, VA 24460.
