Obituary for William Joseph "Jody" Riley II

Mr. William Joseph "Jody" Riley, II, age 64, of Covington, died Friday, April 14, 2023, at his residence. He was the husband of Debra Lynn Richards Riley to whom he was married to for forty-three years.
Mr. Riley was born October 10, 1958 in Alleghany County, the son of William Joseph Riley and the late Shirley Harmon Riley. He was a lifetime resident of this community. Jody was employed by WestRock for forty three years. During his employment, he worked on #1 Paper Machine since it was first brought on line on February 19, 1986 at 6:00 A.M. Mr. Riley was a member of Falling Spring Evangelical Presbyterian Church. Jody was a former member of the Falling Spring Fire and Rescue Squad for over twenty years. In his spare time, Mr. Riley enjoyed hunting and fishing. Most of all, Jody loved his family especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Debra, Mr. Riley is survived by two sons, William Joseph Riley, III of Covington and Bryan Patrick Riley and wife, Heather of Covington; four grandchildren, Aiden Riley, Silas Riley, Payson Riley and Lillian Riley; three sisters, Debra Lynn McComb and husband, Guy of White Sulphur Springs, WV, Lisa Ann Cole and husband, Kevin of Covington and Tina Kay Humphries and husband, Johnny of Covington; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 19, 2023, from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Richards officiating. Entombment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Dale Saville, Guy Richards, Brandon Rowan, Jonathan Lawhorn, Chad Thompson, Carl Legg, Justin Straub and Jonathan Craft.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday morning from 11:00 A.M. until time of service at Loving Funeral Home.
