Obituary for Patricia Marie "Pat" Bowen (Brackenridge)
Mrs. Patricia Marie Brackenridge Bowen, age 71, of Covington, died Friday, December 30, 2022, at LewisGale Hospital-Alleghany, Low Moor. She was the wife of the late Richard Frank "Hickory" Bowen.
Mrs. Bowen was born November 25, 1951 in Alleghany County, the daughter of the late Daniel Rubin Brackenrich and Lucille Mae Wirt. A lifetime resident of this community, she was a homemaker. She was of the Baptist faith. Pat enjoyed growing flowers and being in her garden as well as watching wild animals in the forest surrounding her home. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Mrs. Bowen is survived by a son, McKenzie Lee Bowen and wife, Katie of Eagle Rock; a daughter, April Dawn Bowen and companion, Willie Campbell of Covington; six grandchildren, Isabella Marie Sparks, Lexie Iona-Ann Sparks, Ethan Thomas Campbell, Josh Bryant, Madison Mills and husband, Chase and Maggie Mace; a brother, Michael R. Brackenridge of Hematite; two sisters, Penelope Angel of Winchester and Barbara Hoke of Hematite; a special sister-in-law, Bertha Hosey; and a number of nieces and nephews.
On Friday, January 6, 2023, family and friends will gather at 5:00 P.M. at Iron Gate Baptist Church, 702 Market Avenue, Iron Gate, VA 24448 to enjoy a meal and fellowship the night prior to Mrs. Bowen's service.
A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 7, 2023 from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Pastor David Hanks officiating. Interment will follow in Lone Star Cemetery.
