Obituary for Louise Crawford (Brooks)
Ms. Louise Brooks Crawford, age 92, of Clifton Forge, died Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at The Woodlands Nursing Home, Clifton Forge.
Ms. Crawford was born September 16, 1930 in Clifton Forge, the daughter of the late Ralph Aaron Brooks and Ruth Adkins Brooks. She had been employed by Lear Corporation for a number of years before her retirement. Louise was a member of First Christian Church and a member of “The Bee About” Circle at the church. Mrs. Crawford was a longtime resident of Covington prior to her retirement. She enjoyed bowling and loved animals.
Ms. Crawford is survived by a daughter, Patricia “Patty” Stone and husband, Bobby of Clifton Forge; two grandchildren, Melinda S. Jose and husband, Bobby and Lisa S. Napier and husband, David; three great grandchildren, Reagan Jose, Reid Jose and Henley Napier; and a sister-in-law, Virginia Rose Brooks of Maryland; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Ms. Crawford was preceded in death by a brother, James M. Brooks.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, December 3, 2022 from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Gilliland officiating. Interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Donnie Shinault, Wayne Crawford, Bobby Jose, David Napier, Rex Allman, Todd Smith, John Dayton Stone and Bobby Stone.
The family will receive friends on Saturday morning from 11:30 A.M. until time of service at Loving Funeral Home.
The family suggests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions to First Christian Church 231 E. Fudge Street, Covington, VA 24426 or the Alleghany Humane Society, 9313 Rich Patch Road, Covington, VA 24426.
