Mr. Calvin Lynn Crawford, age 59, of Covington, died Sunday, October 23, 2022, at LewisGale Hospital-Alleghany, Low Moor. He was the devoted husband of Tracy Swoope Crawford to whom he was married to for thirty six and a half years.
Mr. Crawford was born March 12, 1963 in Covington, the son of the late Robert Leo Crawford and Marjorie Blankenship Crawford. A lifetime resident of this community, he was employed as a custodian by the Covington School System, retiring in 2015. Mr. Crawford was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. Calvin enjoyed coaching little league baseball and softball especially when his children were playing on area teams. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and loved to spend time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Tracy, Mr. Crawford is survived by a son, Jeremy T. Crawford and girlfriend, Shea Miller of Covington; a daughter, Whitney C. Windsor and husband, Roman of Covington; four grandchildren, Aubree Windsor, Dawson Nida, Adleigh Windsor and Emery Windsor; bonus family members, Wanda Crizer and family; a special friend, Lester Jeter; a sister-in-law, Betty Angell; a brother-in-law, Max Swoope and wife, Dana; two brothers, Monty Leo Crawford and wife, Jannie of Covington and Robert P. Crawford and wife, Cathy of Covington; a number of special nieces and nephews; wonderful friends and ministers, Rev. Doug Hollenbeck and Rev. Greg Kropff; and his beloved dog, Sadie.
A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
