Mr. Michael Wayne Spencer, age 70, of Covington, died Sunday, October 16, 2022 at LewisGale Medical Center, Salem. He was the husband of Mary Jane Fox Spencer.
Mr. Spencer was born March 21, 1952 in Charleston, WV, the son of the late Nina Spencer Honaker. He came to this area in 1997 from Williamsburg, WV. Mr. Spencer was employed as a guard in the security department of LewisGale-Alleghany, Low Moor. Michael attended New Hope Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, Mary Jane. Mr. Spencer is survived by stepsons, Sean Ginger and wife, Tracy and Timmy Ginger and wife, Phaedra; two step grandchildren, Josh Ginger and wife, Olivia and Taylor Ginger; step great granddaughter, Teagan Forbes Beard; half -brother, Greg Honaker of Lewisburg; half-sister, JoAnna Honaker and husband, Rick of White Sulphur Springs, WV; and an aunt, Mary Morgan of Columbia, SC.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Spencer was preceded in death by his grandparents, Rupert and Elva Spencer.
A memorial service will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Thursday, October 20, 2022, from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home.
