Obituary for Dorothy Lee "Dot" Tucker (Massie)

Mrs. Dorothy “Dot” Lee Massie Tucker, age 81, of Covington, died Thursday, September 29, 2022 at LewisGale Hospital-Alleghany, Low Moor. She was the wife of the late Joe Knight “Bo” Tucker, Jr.
Mrs. Tucker was born May 11, 1941 in Ronceverte, WV, the daughter of the late Othor Chapman Massie and Arlena Wilson Ramsey Massie. Dot was employed as an attendant by the former Ritsch’s Cleaners for a number of years and also worked in the private care field. She enjoyed taking care of her family, especially babysitting her grandchildren and great grandchildren including taking care of her great granddaughter, Kaylee Tolbert every day. Mrs. Tucker truly loved living on her small farm in Hematite where she enjoyed raising chickens, rabbits and spending time with her dogs, Tilly and Toby.
Mrs. Tucker is survived by two daughters, Debra A. Persinger of Covington, Lisa T. Fraser of Covington; her three sons, Christopher A. Tucker of Covington, Kenneth E. Withrow and wife, Sandra of Culpepper and Joseph H. Tucker of Covington; fourteen grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; three great- great grandchildren; two sisters, Ethel Van Buren and Katie “Mousey” Burnette; special friends, Amber Willard, Cameron and Scarlett Crowder; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Tucker was preceded in death by her grandson, Travis Scott Persinger; one brother, Jerry “Buck” Massie; and six sisters, Edie Crosier, Ruth Holcomb, Tippy Harless, Irene O’Neill, Linda Smith and Lulabell Wykle.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 4, 2022 from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Hollenbeck officiating. Interment will follow in Elizabeth Chapel Cemetery, Greenbrier County, WV.
Pallbearers will be Joe Tucker, Avery Clarke, Marcques Tucker, Buddy Combs, Jacob Angle and Frankie Ruano.
Alternate pallbearers will be Mikey Woodson, Cody Byer, Charles Smith and Chuckie Wykle.
The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 7:00 P.M. until 8:30 P.M. at Loving Funeral Home.
The family suggests that memorial donations take the form of contributions to Loving Funeral Home, P.O. Box 443, Covington, VA 24426 to help with funeral expenses.
