Obituary for Brenda Ledford (Gibson)
Mrs. Brenda Gibson Ledford, age 73, of Covington, died Friday, April 23, 2021 at her residence.
Mrs. Ledford was born October 2, 1947 in Covington, the daughter of the late John Lewis Gibson, Sr. and Bessie Landes Gibson. A lifetime resident of this area, she was a graduate of Covington High School. Brenda was employed as a rural route mail carrier by the United States Postal Service-Covington Post Office. She attended Good News Foursquare Church.
Mrs. Ledford is survived by four children, John H. Ledford and wife, Celinda, Eric B. Ledford and wife, Amy, Bridget Andrews and husband, Michael, Carmen Weese and husband, Bobby; grandchildren, Jessica, Mikayla, Kaitlin, Cristen; great grandchildren, Mila, Hannah, M.J., Lana, Grayson; a brother, John L. Gibson of Fredericksburg; and her beloved pets, Sugar and Cocoa.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ledford was preceded in death by two sisters, Elsie Gibson Brown and Joyce Gibson Rowan.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 27, 2021, at Alleghany Memorial Park with Pastor Steve Noel officiating.
Pallbearers will be Eric Ledford, John Ledford, Michael Andrews, Bobby Weese, Travis Ledford and Ben Vess.
The family suggests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Alleghany Humane Society, 9313 Rich Patch Road, Covington VA 24426.
