Obituary for Larry Ernest Scott
Mr. Larry Ernest Scott, age 81, of Stuarts Draft, died Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at Augusta Health, Fishersville. He was the husband of Lois Mae Scott.
Mr. Scott was born September 15, 1939 in Covington, the son of the late Ernest Grigsby Scott and Annie Pauline Bartley Scott. He was a graduate of Covington High School, Class of 1957 and attended Marion Wesleyan University in Marion, IN. Larry returned to college to further his education and in 1968, he graduated from God’s Bible College. During his working career, Mr. Scott was employed as a lab analyst by Proctor/Gamble before retiring in 1996. He and his wife, Lois made their home in Villa Hills, KY for forty-five years before retiring to Stuarts Draft in 2017.
In addition to his wife of fifty-one years, Lois, Mr. Scott is survived by one sister, Linda Killian and husband, Bill of Tucson, AZ; two nephews, Bill Killian of Texas and Scott Killian of Arizona; a niece, Carol Killian of California; and six great nieces and nephews
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, April 17, 2021, from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Hartsfield officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Sylvia Via, Jeff Wiley, Robyn Moreno-Kirby, Dave Wiley, Wayne Dunn, Tex Payne, Tom Oliver and Selina Fridley.
The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon from noon until service time at Loving Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations take the form of contributions to Boys’ Home, Inc. 306 Boys’ Home Road, Covington, VA 24426 or to a charity of your choice.
