Obituary for Betty Goodman Bell

Betty Bell
Mrs. Betty Goodman Bell, age 76, of Covington, died Sunday, February 3, 2019 at LewisGale Hospital-Alleghany, Low Moor. She was the wife of the late John Sullivan Bell.
Mrs. Bell was born June 16, 1942 in Craig County, the daughter of the late Thomas Marshall Goodman and Bannie Eller Goodman. During her working career, she had been employed as a grader by the former Hercules as well as at the sewing plant. Betty was a member of the Westvaco Auxiliary Rescue Squad.
Mrs. Bell is survived by a son, John M. Bell and Debbie Brown; a sister-in-law, Thelma Goodman; special friends, Becky Perkins and Matthew Brown; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to give special thanks to ER Nurse, Cathy and the other nurses at LewisGale Hospital-Alleghany.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bell was preceded in death by her husband, John Sullivan Bell; and two brothers, Thomas M. Goodman, Jr. and James E. Goodman.
A memorial service will be conducted at 6:00 P.M. Friday, February 8, 2019, from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Vernon Helmintoller officiating.
The family will receive friends on Friday evening following the service at Loving Funeral Home.
The family suggests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Johns Creek Volunteer Fire Department, 116 Dick’s Creek Road, New Castle VA 24127.
