Obituary for Ferne Young Baker
Ferne Y. Baker, age 83, of Fallston, MD passed away on January 20, 2019 at Hart Heritage Estates in Street, MD.
Born in Clifton Forge, VA, she was the daughter of Ralph Leroy and Esther (Ferrell) Young and wife of Harold T. Baker. She attended Fallston United Methodist Church and was a former member of Women's Aglow Fellowship. She worked at Fallston Hospital for 9 years and also worked at Glen Meadows Retirement Community prior to her retirement. She loved taking care of her house that her sons had built for her. She took care of her grandchildren as they grew up, she liked to cook, study God's word and tend to her plants around the house. Ferne was always willing to lend a helping hand to whomever needed it.
In addition to her husband of 60 years, Mrs. Baker is survived by three sons, David (Lisa) W. Baker of Oakland, Brian S. Baker of Forest Hill, and Daniel (Cathy) M. Baker of Fallston; and grandchildren Bradley, Laurel, Brittany, Sarah, Jordan and Lindsey Baker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ralph "Sonny" L. Young, Jr.
A graveside service will be conducted at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, January 26, 2019, at Alleghany Memorial Park with Hope Nicely officiating.
