Obituary for Milan Stanford "Stanley" Dame

Mr. Milan Stanford “Stanley” Dame, age 83, died December 31, 2018 at his residence. He was the husband of Nancy Sutphin Dame.
Mr. Dame was born on August 19, 1935 in Alleghany County, the son of the late Milan Jackson Dame and Daisy Littlepage Dame. He worked as a construction supervisor for Tenneco Newport News Ship Building Dry Docks. Mr. Dame proudly served his country while he was in the United States Air force. He was of the Baptist Faith. Mr. Dame enjoyed cars, camping, and was a people’s person. He most enjoyed being with family, spending time on his property in Bath County, and being on the committee for his class reunion.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Dame is survived by one son, Patrick Marcel Dame of Covington; one daughter, Maryland Leigh Huntley of Hampton; one sister, Alice D. West and husband, Ward; one grandson, David Huntley; one granddaughter, Jessica LeeAnn Dame; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Dame was preceded in death by one son, Gregory Allen Dame; one brother, Robert Dame; and one sister, Shirley Madeline Dame Rothwell.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Friday, January 4, 2019 at Alleghany Memorial Park with Rev. Bill Hartsfield officiating. Friends and family are to assemble at Loving Funeral Home at 10:00 A.M., prior to the service on Friday.
The family will receive friends at the family’s residence, 2973 Greenway Drive, Covington anytime.
