Kathy Hazelwood Clark, age 48, of Covington, died Sunday, December 2, 2018 at UVA Medical Center, Charlottesville surrounded by her family and friends.
Mrs. Clark was born in Alleghany County, the daughter of the late Monty Ray Hazelwood and Norma Jean Dunn Hazelwood. She was a lifetime resident of this community. Kathy was a long time member of Temple Baptist Church. Her greatest accomplishment in life was being a mother and seeing her son Andy grow into a fine young man. Mrs. Clark is survived by her son, John Andrew “Andy” Clark; father of her son, Terry Clark; her brother Kevin Hazelwood and wife Lisa of Covington; a very special sister Crystal Meadows and special friend Sharon Walthall.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 A.M., Friday, December 7, 2018 at Temple Baptist Church with Rev. William Hartsfield officiating. Interment will follow in Swope Cemetery in Rock Camp, W.Va.
Pallbearers will be Rob Fridley, Tyler Fridley, Travis Fridley, Trever Fridley, Jack Ratliff, Todd Anderson, Larry Mann, Allen Mann and Bryan Thompson.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7 – 8:30 pm at Loving Funeral Home and also at the home of Norma Hazelwood, 447 Winding Way, Covington, VA.
The family suggests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions to The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
