Condolences

Condolence From: Cindy Rice
Condolence: My uncle Joe , and his kind wife Lula (who was my mother's sister) was always taking me for rides in his new big red ford truck when I was a child. After they had taken me to The Rice Paddy that he and my dad,Ray owned ,they purchased for me my favorite burger back then which was dressed with tomato, mustard, and mayo. The only time that I didn't enjoy being around him was when his legs were casted. I was scared of people with casts! HA! He had leg problems much of his life, some of which required those white plaster scary monsters.Joe was very comical..kept me laughing. He said that when in war, his fellow soldiers in his foxhole would worry, he told them not to worry until they saw them (the enemy)coming, and if they were gonna worry, they could do his worrying for him.My dad (his brother Ray) & my husband were fishing on Lake Moomaw, and saw a boat screaming toward them.It was in very cold weather. The driver of the boat had hi shirt unbuttoned and each side of the shirt fronts were sticking out to the sides. Dad said that's Joe. He asked Joe what he was doing looking like that without a coat. Joe said he had went over board in his boat and had been swimming around it in circles trying to catch it for 20 minutes! His shirt had frozen on his way back up the lake, and looked like he had wings! Typical of Joe ,he was laughing about it and considered it a fun time! He was such an optimist.Dad was a very serious man most of the time. Joe was the opposite.Serious when need be, but enjoyed every situation, even the serious ones!. Once he received a call being informed that he was a few days late on his new car payment. He asked the man if he was worried about it.The man said yes.Joe told him good. You go ahead and worry about it so I don't have to! HA!..God bless you uncle Joe!Thanks for the memories that you helped make for me!
