Mrs. Lois Irene Jessee, age 76, of Sweet Springs, WV, formerly of Covington, died November 21, 2017, at the Johnson City Medical Center, Johnson City, TN. She was the wife of the late Robert McKinley Jessee, Sr.
Mrs. Jessee was born April 15, 1941 in Wise County, the daughter of the late Leonard Joseph Hughes and Margaret Williams Hughes. During her working career, Lois was employed as a cleaner by Halmode as well as a greeter by Walmart. She was of the Methodist faith. Mrs. Jessee enjoyed taking trips to Pigeon Forge, TN with her sisters. Most of all, Lois loved spending time with her family.
Mrs. Jessee is survived by her son, Robert Jessee and wife, Judy; a daughter, Darlene Daugherty and husband, Mike of Sweet Springs, WV; seven grandchildren, Christopher Daugherty, Tyler Jessee, Haley Jessee, Cole Jessee, Cody Daugherty, Travis Jessee and Renee Redford; six great grandchildren, Michael Daugherty, Connor Daugherty, Veronica Daugherty, Izaike O’Conner, Kaydence Jessee and Cayden Stultz; five brothers, Pete Hughes, Gerald Hughes, Fred Hughes, Robert Hughes and Tom Hughes; two sisters, Phyllis Edwards and Doris Powers; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Jessee was preceded in death by a son, Mark Jessee; a grandson, Todd A. Paitsel; three brothers; and one sister.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Monday, November 27, 2017, from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Rev. Lynn Wright officiating. Interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Monday morning from 11:30 A.M. until time of service at the funeral home.
