Obituary for Bertha Jeanette Ailstock (Noel)

Bertha Jeanette  Ailstock (Noel)
Mrs. Bertha Jeanette Noel Ailstock, age 84, of Covington, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Tuesday, February 21, 2017, at Bath Community Hospital, Hot Springs. She is survived by her loving husband, William L. “Billy” Ailstock, Jr. whom she was happily married to for sixty-five years.
Mrs. Ailstock was born September 13, 1932 in Alleghany County, the daughter of the late George L. Noel, Sr. and Alice Lantz Noel. A homemaker, Jeanette lived a full life devoting herself to her children. She always put others first and even helped raise and care for her siblings. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and was loved by everyone. Mrs. Ailstock was a lifelong member of Greenwood Church.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Ailstock is survived by two sons, William “Skip” Ailstock and wife, Donna and Steve Ailstock and wife, Therese; two daughters, Sandra Capps and husband, Benny and Alicia Gibson and husband, Gerald; a daughter-in-law, Teresa Ailstock; eight grandchildren, Stephanie Ailstock Wells and husband, Joshua, Jeremy Ailstock and fiancée, Carrie Lowry, Christina Ailstock Fridley and husband, Brandon, Ashley Ailstock Gwin and husband, Jonathan, Katie Gibson, Zachary Ailstock, Derek Gibson and Kelsey Ailstock; six great grandchildren, Alexis Gwin, Alex Gwin, Brandon “Lane” Fridley, Paylen Grace Fridley, Kinlee Ailstock, and Baby Ailstock due in July; two brothers, George “Buster” Noel, Sr. and Jack Noel, both of Covington; three sisters, JoAnn Noel, Juanita N. Ailstock and Pauline “Dreama” Paxton, all of Covington; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Ailstock was preceded in death by a son, Bruce Ailstock and a brother, Bobby Noel.
A funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 P.M. Friday, February 24, 2017, at Greenwood Evangelical Presbyterian Church with Rev. William Catoe officiating. Interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Ailstock, Gerald Gibson, Jr., Brandon Fridley, Joshua Wells, Jonathan Gwin and Daniel Ailstock. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Gene Ailstock, Danny Ailstock and Benny Capps.
The family will receive friends on Friday morning from 11:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. at the church.
The family suggests that memorial tributes be made to Greenwood Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 626 E. Morris Hill Road, Covington, VA 24426 or the Falling Spring Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 880, Covington, VA 24426.
The family will like to say a very special thank you to friends, neighbors, Doctor Ortez, Bath Community Hospital Staff, Falling Spring Rescue Squad, Lori Batten for all that she did and Preacher Bill Catoe for the beautiful service that he officiated.
