Mr. Troy L. Nelson, age 84, left this world for his heavenly home, Tuesday, November 29, 2016.
Troy was born November 17, 1932 in Circleville, WV, the son of the late Rella May Kyle and Solan Nelson. He was resident of Covington, VA for fifty-six years and a proud member of Faith Baptist Church.
Shirley Lambert, his wife, preceded him in death.
He is survived by four children, Gerald Lambert, Marchita McRoberts and husband, Tom of Covington, Thomas Nelson and wife, Diane of Roanoke, and Andrea Nelson and husband, Richard Clark of Glen Allen.
Also surviving are five grandchildren, Kelly Rucker and husband, Jerry, Kristen Martin, Tyler Martin, Amie Burkholder and husband, Evan and Jeremy Lambert as well as three great grandchildren, William Rucker, Caleb Burkholder and Nora Burkholder. Troy has two surviving brothers, Mr. Bruce Nelson of Harrisonburg and Samuel Nelson of Washington State.
Visitation will be on Sunday, December 4, 2016 at Faith Baptist Church from 1:30 to 2:30pm for family and friends, followed by a memorial service at 3:00pm. with Bro. Billy Price officiating.
In accordance with Troy's wishes, in lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the Faith Baptist Church Building Fund, 311 Jackson Drive, Covington, VA 24426.
