Miss Whitney Faith Loving, age 16, of Nellysford, VA, died Thursday, July 9, 2015, from injuries sustained in a vehicular accident.
Whitney was born August 11, 1998, in Roanoke, VA, a daughter of James Patton Loving III and Jeannie Marie Booze Loving.
She was a rising junior at Nelson County High School and was active in her school’s Varsity and JV softball team, basketball, and track teams. Whitney also served on her school’s FFA Committee and the Student Council Association. Whitney was listed in the top fifteen scouting report for fast pitch USSSA travel softball team players in 2010 for the state of Virginia. She was the current reigning Miss Nelson County and was voted Miss Congeniality and first runner-up during the 2015 Charlottesville Dogwood Festival.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by two sisters Autumn Katelynne Loving Mays and husband Jeremy and Bethany Nicole "Lu Lu" Loving; maternal grandparents Norman and Barbara Booze and Kathy Smith; paternal grandparents Amanda Noffsinger and Pat and Lynda Loving; aunts, uncles, cousins, and nephew Mason Lee Mays.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 14, 2015, at 1:00 P.M. in Northern Amherst County, VA at Clifford Baptist Church with the Reverend Brandon Williams officiating assisted by Reverend Mike Fitzgerald. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Covington at approximately 5:00 P.M. Tuesday.
Active pallbearers will be Jeremy Mays, Chad Montgomery, Tristan Elkins, Cam Johnson, Mike Boor, Riley Harvey, Ty Campbell, Jacob Floyd, and Trevor Clements.
The family will receive friends Monday evening, July 13, 2015, from 7:00 P.M. till 8:00 P.M. in the chapel of Loving Funeral Home in Covington, VA.
