Nancy Warwick O’Connor, age 73, of Covington, died Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at her residence. She was the wife of the late Ronald Amos O’Connor.
Mrs. O’Connor was born August 20, 1940 in Alleghany County, the daughter of the late Edward Gathwright Warwick and Wahneta Smith Warwick. She was a lifetime member of this community and was employed as a customer service representative by Ntelos Cable before her retirement. Nancy was a past member of Granbery Memorial United Methodist Church. An avid sports fan, she enjoyed watching the Covington Cougars and Virginia Tech Hokies. Nancy also loved to read, watch her grandchildren play sports and spending time with her family.
Mrs. O’Connor is survived by one son, Jeffrey R. O’Connor and wife, Tracey of Clifton Forge; one daughter, Kimberly O. Bowden and husband, Gene of Roanoke; four grandchildren, Ryan J. Bowden, Katelyn Bowden, Taylor O’Connor and Derek J. O’Connor; four brothers, Paul Warwick, Ed Vinnacombe, Mike Warwick and wife, Elizabeth, Charles Warwick and wife, Glenna; one sister, Nora Hall and husband, R. C.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Friday, May 23, 2014, at Cedar Hill Cemetery with Rev. Doug Hollenbeck officiating.
Those wishing to attend the service should assemble at Loving Funeral Home by 10:15 A.M.
Pallbearers will be Greg Dill, Booty Sexton, Paul Peery, Alvin Fox, James Hall, R.C. Hall and Sonny Waddell.
The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 7:00 P.M. until 8:30 P.M. at Loving Funeral Home.
