Mildred Vint
Mrs. Mildred Humphries Vint, age 92, of 615 W. Jackson Street, died Tuesday, August 9, 2011, at LewisGale Hospital – Alleghany, Low Moor. She was the wife of Norman Justice Vint who preceded her in death in 1973.
Mrs. Vint was born August 9, 1919 in Covington, the daughter of the late William Ivan Humphries and Dollie Ann Bowen Humphries. She was a Sunday school teacher for the Cornerstone Church of God of Prophecy and babysat for the county for many years.
Mrs. Vint is survived by three daughters, Mildred Smith, Patricia Pettitt of Covington, Norma Burrage of Amissville; one son, Buddy Vint of Covington; one sister, Ruth Maddy of Covington; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, William Ivan Humphries and Dollie Ann Bowen Humphries and her husband, Norman Justice Vint, Mrs. Vint was preceded in death by two sons, William A. Humphries and Benny A. Humphries; five brothers; ten sisters; and one grandson.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, August 14, 2011, from the chapel of with the Rev. Charles Russell officiating. Interment will follow in Sunrise Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jessie Byrd, Larry Costa, Kim Costa, Joseph Dressler, Michael Pettitt, II, Kevin Pettitt and Robert Thomas.
The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 7:00 P.M. until 8:30 P.M. at .
