Robert H. Smoot Mr. Robert Horton Smoot, 90, passed away October 25, 2013. He was born May 25, 1923 in Shipman, Virginia to George Cleveland Smoot and Ethel Horton Smoot. Known to friends as Bob, and family as Horton, he grew up on a farm with brothers George and Ray, and sister, Virginia. After graduation from Lovingston High School, he joined the Army to fight in WWII. ...
