Obituary for Dinah Vaughn Johnson

Dinah Vaughn Johnson, 62, of Hot Springs and formerly of WSS, WV went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 1, 2018. She was the wife of Jeffrey K. Johnson.
Born on January 17, 1956 in White Sulphur Springs, WV she was the daughter of the late Kenneth Edgar Vaughn and the late Hilda Virginia Waid Vaughn. Dinah graduated from Concord College with a degree in education. She was a teacher with the White Sulphur Springs Elementary, where she loved her children and fellow teachers. Dinah also enjoyed taking day trips to antique shops, playing cards, beach trips and cruises with her friend Kathy Groves, eating at restaurants, and spending time with family and friends. She left this world too soon and will be great missed by everyone she knew.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving son, Joshua Hampton and sister, Donna Street.
Dinah is survived by her husband, Jeff Johnson of Hot Springs; brother, Edgar Vaughn and wife Nancy of Eagle Rock; brothers-in-law, Ivan R. Johnson, III and wife Connie of Wake Forest, NC and Kevin Johnson and wife Karen of Waxhaw, NC; nieces and nephews, Freddie Stevens and wife Sandi of WV, Debbie Whitt and husband Dale of WV, Lisa Anderson of Covington, Scott Vaughn and wife Jodi of Chesterfield, Gina Jackson and husband Curtis of Goodview, Darren Vaughn and wife Amy of Birmingham, AL, Liesa Johnson, Stephan Johnson and wife Melissa, Amy Ladagana and husband Joe, and Ashley Johnson; 23 great nieces and nephews; 16 great great nieces and nephews; special friends, Kathy Hayden and husband Ron of Covington and Kathy Groves and husband Harold of NC; and numerous friends.
A funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Faith Baptist Church with Pastor Billy Price officiating. Interment will follow at Falling Springs Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service starting at 11 am at the church.
Pallbearers will be Scott Vaughn, Matthew Anderson, Travis Anderson, Lee Bush, Cody Whitt, and Clay Ford. Honorary pallbearers will be Freddie Stevens, Bill Kelley, and Ron Hayden.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial contributions to the Covington Rescue Squad.
