Mrs. Helen Thomas Ryder, age 68, of Covington, died Thursday, November 1, 2018 at the Brian Center Alleghany. She was the wife of the late Bobby Morgan Ryder.
She was born on December 20, 1949 in Alleghany County, a daughter of the late Russell Mason Thomas and Eula Carter Thomas. A lifetime resident of this area, she was employed as a cleaning professional by the Homestead Resort. Helen was a member of Hot Springs Baptist Church.
Mrs. Ryder is survived by her brother, Carl E. Thomas of Montana; three sisters, Virginia T. Thompson of Fayetteville NC, Linda L. Richardson of Covington and Brenda T. Sharpe Kincaid of White Sulphur Springs, WV; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at Cedar Hill Cemetery with Rev. Steve Tremblay officiating.
Those wishing to attend the service should assemble at Cedar Hill Cemetery by 12:45 P.M.
The family suggests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions to a charity of your choice.
