Obituary for Richard Alexander Worrell



Mr. Richard Alexander Worrell, age 48, of Covington, died Thursday, August 30, 2018, at his residence.
Mr. Worrell was born March 24, 1970 in Clifton Forge, the son of Rebecca Hostetter Redman and the late Michael Richard Worrell. A lifetime resident of this community, he graduated from Covington High School, Class of 1988 where he excelled as a drummer in the Covington High School Band. Mr. Worrell attended McAllister Memorial Presbyterian Church. Richard enjoyed playing video games with his many friends in the gaming community all over the world as well as enjoyed watching the history channel and “surfing” the internet. He was dedicated to his late grandparents, Arnold and Phoebe Hostetter.
In addition to his mother, Rebecca Hostetter Redman, Mr. Worrell is survived by his aunts, Thelma Wilkosz and Cheryl Darlene Thompson; his uncle, Harold Hostetter, Sr.; a number of cousins; a longtime family friend, Linda Marquardt and canine companion, BaBa.
In addition to his father, Michael Richard Worrell, Mr. Worrell was preceded in death by his uncle, Arnold Hostetter.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, September 8, 2018, at McAllister Memorial Presbyterian Church with Rev. Bill Gilliland officiating.
