Obituary for David Wayne "Rambo" Clarke

Mr. David Wayne “Rambo” Clarke, age 55, of Covington, died Sunday, September 2, 2018, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Roanoke. He was the husband of Michelle Watson Clarke.
Mr. Clarke was born July 31, 1963 in Alleghany County. David was a graduate of Covington High School and served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corp from 1981 until 1985. He was employed as a machine operator “CPOP” by WestRock Extruder Plant in Low Moor. David attended Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church. He never took a day of his life for granted, working hard every day to provide only the very best for his family. David loved to hunt and fish. He especially enjoyed Christmas, watching YouTube videos, Elvis Presley as well as eating a nice big sherbet cone at the river camp. His latest great joy in life was playing non-stop with his grandson, Abe - “Boobie”.
In addition to his wife of thirty-four years, Michelle, Mr. Clarke is survived by three sons, David Matthew Clarke and wife, Margee of Salem, Dustin Watson Clarke and Shane Stafford Clarke, both of Covington; a grandson, Abram Watson Clarke; his mother-in-law, Sandy Watson, of Covington; brothers-in-law, Thom Watson and Jeff Tabaco; three brothers, Brian, Steven and Michael; and a number of family members, friends and coworkers.
A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 4:00 P.M. Friday, September 7, 2018 at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church.
Friends may visit with the family following the service.
The family suggests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Kazim Shriners Transportation Fund, 628 Campbell Avenue, Roanoke, VA 24016.
