Obituary for Laurie Puchala (Lindsay)

Mrs. Laurie Lindsay Puchala, age 93, of Waldorf, MD, died Saturday, February 10, 2018, at her residence. She was the wife of the late Andrew James Puchala.
Mrs. Puchala was born April 3, 1924 in Tacoma Park, MD, the daughter of the late Richard Edward Lindsay and Ola Andrews Lindsay. She was reared in the Natural Well section of Alleghany County, was a graduate of Falling Spring High School and attended Madison College. During her working career, Laurie was employed in the finance department of the United States Post Office in Washington, DC before retiring from Woodward and Lothrop Department Store. Mrs. Puchala was a member of Emory United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Puchala is survived by a daughter, Linda Mullet and husband, Woodward; a son, John Puchala and wife, Brenda; four grandchildren, Traci Pirrone (Anthony), Karen Vennemann (John), Daniel Puchala (Stephanie), and Lindsay Puchala Timberlake (Amara); seven great grandchildren, James Pirrone, Drew Vennemann, Taylor Vennemann, Rowan Puchala, Amelia Timberlake, Jonathan Pirrone and Justin Pirrone; a number of nieces and nephews; a special cousin, Alvin Peters; lifelong friend, Betty Burr; and special family and friends at Natural Well.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:30 P.M. Saturday, February 17, 2018, at Emory United Methodist Church with Rev. Gennie Bowles officiating.
The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon from 12:30 P.M. until time of service at Emory United Methodist Church.
Internment will follow in Emory United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family suggests that memorial tributes in her name take the form of contributions to Emory United Methodist Church, 7119 Jackson River Road, Hot Springs, VA 24445.
