Mr. Warren Ray Lipes, age 64, of Covington, died on Saturday, January 6, 2018, at his residence.
Mr. Lipes was born May 19, 1953 in Alleghany County, the son of the late William Allen Lipes, Sr. and Faye Josephine Wright Lipes. He was employed as a maintenance worker by Virginia Tech for thirty-six years. Warren liked to build things and enjoyed working on cars.
Mr. Lipes is survived by a brother, William A. Lipes, Jr.; four sisters, Mary L. Kelly, Marie L. Carter and husband, Wilbur, Brenda L. Bennett and husband, Bill and Patricia L. Tucker and husband, Michael; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Lipes was preceded in death by a brother, Donald L. Lipes.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Friday, January 12, 2018, from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Rev. Shane Hiner and Rev. Joe Walker officiating. Interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Brian Tucker, Davey Kelly, Korre Wolfe, Billy Kelly, Jesse Wright and Josh Tucker.
The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Loving Funeral Home.
