Obituary for Frances Louise Johnson (Perkins)

Mrs. Frances Louise Perkins Johnson, age 87, of Covington, died Thursday, November 30, 2017, at LewisGale Hospital-Alleghany, Low Moor. She was the wife of the late Ivan Randall Johnson, Jr.
Mrs. Johnson was born February 14, 1930 in Bath County, the daughter of the late Alexander McDowell Perkins and Jerline Erma Johnson Perkins. A lifetime resident of this community, she was a homemaker. Frances was a member of Falling Spring Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Johnson was a longtime member and leader of the Willing Workers Four H Club and loved to square dance with her husband. Since her family raised and sold Christmas trees, she was known as the “Christmas Tree Lady”.
Mrs. Johnson is survived by three sons, Ivan R. “Johnny” Johnson, III and wife, Connie, Kevin Johnson and wife, Karen and Jeffrey K. Johnson and wife, Dinah; four grandchildren, Ashley Johnson, Amy Ladagana and husband, Joe, Liesa Johnson and Stephan Johnson and wife, Melissa; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Monday, December 4, 2017 from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Catoe officiating, assisted by Rev. Jeff Riley. Interment will follow in Falling Spring Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Allen Wiley, David Wiley, Ed Poage, Wayne Grimm, Charley King, Tommy Seabolt and Kevin Morgan. Honorary pallbearers will be friends of the family attending the service.
The family will receive friends on Monday afternoon from 12:30 P.M. until time of service at Loving Funeral Home.
