Mr. Wyatt Thomas Campbell, age 85, of Roanoke, died Friday, February 3, 2017, at the Salem VA Medical Center, Salem. He was the husband of Era Pinion Campbell.
Mr. Campbell was born June 9, 1931 in White Sulphur Springs, WV, the son of the late Wallace Bruce Campbell and Nellie Marie Sizemore Campbell Nelson. A resident of Covington for seventeen years, Wyatt proudly served our country as an aircraft mechanic with the United States Air Force for twenty-three years. Following his retirement from the Air Force in 1974 in Roanoke, Mr. Campbell worked at Friendship Manor for twenty years. Wyatt enjoyed bowling and working. He was of the Protestant faith.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Campbell is survived by two sons, Bruce Campbell of Salem and James Campbell of Colorado Springs, CO.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Campbell was preceded in death by a son, Mike Campbell and a sister, Peggy Brinkley.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 11, 2017, from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Rev. Frankie Sizemore officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Graveside rites will be conducted by Curtis A. Smith Post 1033 Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends attending the service.
The family will receive friends on Saturday afternoon from 1:00 P.M. until time of service at Loving Funeral Home.
