Mrs. Betty Jean Rea Campbell, age 81, of Natural Bridge, died Monday, December 26, 2016, at her residence. She was the wife of the late Charles Edward Campbell.
Mrs. Campbell was born October 11, 1935 in Covington, the daughter of the late Robert Randolph Rea and Ardelia Lee Shiflett. A resident of Natural Bridge for the past thirty years, she was employed as a cashier by the Natural Bridge Zoo. Betty was a member of the Natural Bridge Fire Department where she was known as “Mom”.
Mrs. Campbell is survived by a son, James Edward Campbell and wife, April of Natural Bridge Station and George Anthony Jones, Jr. and wife, Janet of Greenville, NC; a daughter, Kim Byers and husband, Ron of Glasgow; five grandchildren, Leigh Ann Martin, Norman Dudley, Zachary Jones, Christopher Jones, and Daytonna Hatcher; and three great grandchildren.
Mrs. Campbell was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Dudley in 2008.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Friday, December 30, 2016 at Johnson Creek Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Rev. Donald Stine officiating.
Pallbearers will be Ron Byers, Chris Martin, Daytonna Hatcher, George Jones, Paul Jones and Noah Byer.
The family suggests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Natural Bridge Fire Department, 5705 S. Lee Highway, Natural Bridge VA 24578.
