Mrs. Anna Catharina Trap Nikkel, age 85, died Sunday, July 10, 2016 at her residence. She was the wife of Willem Andre Nikkel.
Mrs. Nikkel was born September 28, 1930, in Amsterdam, Netherlands, a daughter of Ludovicus Nicolaas Trap and Catharina Maria Vos. A member of this community since 1960, she previously resided in Montreal, Canada. She enjoyed gardening and traveling.
In addition to her husband, Willem Andre Nikkel, Mrs. Nikkel is survived by a daughter, Pamela Ann Nikkel Lynch and husband, Mark, of Yorktown; two grandchildren, Michael Wayman Lynch of Arlington and Aaron Christopher Lynch of Norfolk; half brother, Louis Trap of Amsterdam; and three cousins of Holland.
In addition to her parents, Nicolaas Trap and Catharina Maria Vos, Mrs. Nikkel was preceded in death by her son, Phillip William Nikkel in 1968, and a brother in 1996.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7:00 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. at Loving Funeral Home.
A committal service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Friday, July 15, 2016, at Alleghany Memorial Park.
The family suggests that memorial donations be made in the form of contributions to Mountain Regional Hospice, P.O. Box 637, Clifton Forge, VA 24422.
