Mrs. Betty Eppling Rohr, 85, of Woodhaven Nursing Home, Montvale, VA, died Friday, January 29, 2016, at the home located near Bedford. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward M. Rohr.
Mrs. Rohr was born March 20, 1930, the daughter of the late C.B. and Helen Eppling. She was a native of Covington and a resident of Wilmington, DE for 52 years. Betty was a graduate of Madison College, Harrisonburg, VA. Prior to becoming a devoted mother, she worked in Covington for Zoi Hughes, the law offices of Roscoe B. Stephenson and Roscoe B. Stephenson, Jr. and was her father’s secretary and bookkeeper for his honey bee business. Mrs. Rohr was a member of Bethany Baptist Church, Newport, DE.
Mrs. Rohr is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dwight and Betty Erwin Rohr of Covington; two grandsons, Christopher Rohr, of Covington and Joseph Rohr and wife, Lori Nell Rohr; and three great grandsons, Matthew, Daniel and Caleb, all of Egg Harbor City, NJ.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Rohr was preceded in death by an infant son, Timmy Rohr.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 3, 2016, from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Atkin officiating, assisted by Rev. Bill Gilliland. Interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park with Rev. Bill Hartsfield officiating.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday morning from 1:00 P.M. until time of service at Loving Funeral Home.
