Mrs. Ruth Athalie Forbes Nicely, age 92, of Covington, died Sunday, October 25, 2015. She was the wife of the late Leonard Elwood Nicely, Sr.
Mrs. Nicely was born September 8, 1923, in Goshen, the daughter of the late Wallace Forbes and Pauline Samples Forbes. She was a homemaker and enjoyed fishing and playing bingo. Ruth was a member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Nicely is survived by her son, Leonard E. “Pete” Nicely, Jr. and wife, Sally of Covington; her daughter, Bonnie Nicely Hall and husband, Chuck of Covington; three grandchildren, Wendy Meeks, Shannon Porterfield and Chuck Hall; eight great grandchildren; four sisters, Teeny Weickert, Evelyn Harvell, Juanita Smith and Betty Bernhardt.
In addition to her husband, Leonard Elwood Nicely, Sr., Mrs. Nicely was preceded in death by her grandsons, Leonard E. Nicely, III and Tracy Hall; two brothers and two sisters.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Friday, October 30, 2015, at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Doug Hollenbeck officiating.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Meeks, Timmy Porterfield, Noah Porterfield, Brenden Porterfield, Michael Kessinger, Tracy Hall, Jr., Chuck Hall, Jr. and Chuck Hall, III.
