Mrs. Sona Jones Tucker, age 58, of Covington, died Monday, April 28, 2014, at LewisGale Hospital-Alleghany, Low Moor. She was the wife of Quentin Lee Tucker for forty-one years.
Mrs. Tucker was born January 27, 1956 in Alleghany County, the daughter of the late Theodore “Buddy” Jones and Shirley Fridley Jones. She retired as a secretary at H&M Electric. Sona enjoyed reading and loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Tucker is survived by three daughters, Stephanie Tucker and Norman Harris, Kelly Patterson and husband, Stacy, and Kimberly Wright and Norman “Bo” Bourgord, all of Covington; seven grandchildren, Emily Wright, Kaylee Wright, Conner Patterson, Hunter Wright, Allyson Ripley, Landen Wright and Abigail Patterson; two sisters, Lisa Jones and Bill Wright and Sarah Arrington and husband, James, all of Covington; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, May 1, 2014, from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Rev. J.B. Broughman officiating. Interment will follow in Lone Star Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Steve Tucker, James Arrington, Christopher Arrington, Bill Wright, Doug Persinger, Jamie Fridley, Gary Hinkle and Shane Wright.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 7:00 P.M. until 8:30 P.M. at Loving Funeral Home and at other times at the residence, 6710 Bens Run Road, Covington.
