Betty Jackson
Betty M. McMullen Jackson, born July 1, 1921 in Covington, where she has lived all of her life, died Saturday, October 20, 2012.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Edward McMullen and Dollie M. Downey McMullen; also her loving son, Robert Franklin Jackson, Sr.; a sister, Frances M. Garben; and a brother, James Edward McMullen of Hopewell, VA.
Betty was married to George E. Jackson who died in December, 1965.
She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Ruth (Lou) Forbes Jackson Nicely; a grandson, Robert, Jr. and wife, Amy, all of Covington; a sister, Mildred Childs of Covington; two very special nieces, Linda Garben of Roanoke and Tina Bray of Arizona; her nephews; and a very caring sister-in-law, Louise Jones McMullen of Hopewell, VA.
There will be a private memorial service at a later date.
The family suggests if you wish to make a memorial donation, make it to the Alleghany Humane Society, P.O. Box 60, Low Moor, VA 24457, as Betty owned and loved cats.
