George Krause
Mr. George Krause, age 91, of Mechanicsville, died Monday, July 29, 2013, at his residence. He was the husband of the late Ruby M. Krause.
Mr. Krause was born April 10, 1922 in Harper, KS, the son of the late Frank Kraus and Pauline Glieshmen. He served his country as a member of the United States Army during World War, II. George was a staff sergeant with the 346th Bombardment Squadron, 99th Bombardment Group, Army Air Forces where he completed fifty certified combat missions as a waist gunner in the Army Air Force Mediterranean Theatre of Operations. He was employed for many years as an agriculture salesman. He was a devout Christian and loved the USA. George enjoyed farming, gardening and betting the horses. But most all, he loved being a dad.
Mr. Krause is survived by one son, George Samuel Krause and wife, Virginia; three sisters, Pat Revelis, Virginia Kraus and Mary Kraus; and a number of nieces and nephews, and wonderful friends and neighbors.
In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Krause was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.
The family wishes a special thanks to Dr. Edward Martirosian for many years of his wonderful care of George and Ruby.
A graveside service will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Thursday, August 1, 2013, at Paint Bank Community Cemetery with Rev. Bill Gilliland officiating.
Graveside rites by the Curtis A. Smith Post 1033 Veterans of Foreign Wars.
The family will receive friends Thursday afternoon from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. at .
